what is reiki?
Energy is all around us, there's positive energy and negative energy. When we encounter negative energy we often feel dis-ease.
Have you ever felt drained after being in a meeting or after having talked to someone? They could be passing their negative energy onto you.
Reiki helps correct the flow of energy within the body. When energies get blocked we often suffer illness. A reiki treatment will help unblock and re-align your energies.
Where does the name Reiki come from?
The word Reiki comes from two words of Japanese origin - Rei meaning spiritual or unseen, and Ki meaning life force or energy. So combined we get spiritual life force. The word spiritual is used in the widest form and does not mean any specific religious icon. It is the universal life force.
Where does Reiki healing come from?
It comes from the universal source. The energy flows through the practitioner and is not within the practitioner. Thus the energy force is limitless. It is not by some great power that the practitioner has, it's simply a force that flows through the practitioner.
What can Reiki be used for?
It is important to note that Reiki is always used for the higher good of the client. The intention is always to help the client and send healing where it is needed.
Reiki can be used to relax, de stress, unblock negative energies, ease pain. It is holistic in that is treats illnesses on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels of your being.
What are Chakras?
These are energy points within the body. There are 7 Chakras within the body and when they are not in alignment we can feel dis-ease. The practitioner will place their hands over the various chakras to re-align them.
Certain feelings of dis-ease will manifest when chakras are unbalanced.
For example sometimes people feel up in the air, or can't get a good footing in life. This could be that the crown chakra or the base chakra (at the bottom of the spinal cord) are not in align
What's a reiki treatment like?
Quite simply amazing - A reiki treatment is very relaxing and non intrusive. The client lies on a plinth covered with a blanket and they simply relax and let the Practitioner channel positive energy to the person.
Many people fall into a deep sleep during a treatment. A reiki treatment is equal to up to 4 hours of sleep.
